This fall, we welcomed 104 first year, 12 transfer and 11 graduate students to the department of Political Science. Of the over 1,100 applicants to the department, these students represent the best of the best with an average incoming high school GPA of 3.78 and with a wealth of diverse experiences and interests. Classes have started for the fall quarter; the faculty and staff of the department are excited to see these students start their Cal Poly Political Science experience.

January 16-20 - Laura Hosman attended Pacific Telecommunications 37th Annual Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii.
February 3-7 - Laura Hosman attended SPIDER (Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) Organization at Stockholm University in Stockholm, Sweden.

Political Science Journal Joins Library of CLA Student Publications

The Political Science, English and History Departments all produce academic journals, featuring the work of students.
When papers are returned after an assignment and students ponder the hard work that went into writing them, they might wonder if there’s a way to legitimately share those ideas with others. In an effort to give new purpose to what students do in class every day, several CLA departments have developed undergraduate journals as publication outlets for students.
