Public Policy Graduate Student Receives CSU Trustees’ Award

Christine Lam, 22, was selected as Cal Poly’s awardee, the Trustee Wenda Fong and Daniel Fetterly Scholar, for her academic performance, personal accomplishments, community service and financial need. She will receive a $6,000 Trustees’ Award scholarship as part of her recognition.
Denae Hollar Uses Trip Abroad as Senior Project Research

As spring quarter of 2021 wrapped up, political science senior Denae Hollar began preparing for her upcoming trip to a remote farm in Costa Rica. Originally planned as a volunteer trip, Hollar started thinking about how she could use this experience as research for her impending senior project on democracy and global food security.

Political Science Major Selected for Panetta Institute for Public Policy’s Congressional Internship Program
A political science major seeking a career in public service is Cal Poly’s 2019 representative to the Panetta Institute Congressional Internship Program, which gives students the opportunity to work and study in Washington, D.C. Christine Lam will spend two weeks in August training at the Panetta Institute at CSU Monterey Bay, followed by 11 weeks in the nation’s capital working full time in the office of a congressional representative.
