MUSTANG MOCKER'S MOMENTUM MATERIALIZES
During the 2016-17 season, the Cal Poly Mock Trial program had the most successful year in team history.
MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)
Cal Poly MUN allowed students to explore beyond the UN experience.
VOTING RIGHTS
The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), the nation's leading science-based policy advocacy organization, awarded associate professor of political science Michael Latner its Voting Rights Kendall Fellowship.
SETTLE TO RETIRE AFTER 47 YEARS WITH CAL POLY
After an incredible 47 years with Cal Poly, Allen Settle will retire and transition to emeritus professor. Settle has been a vibrant presence in the department since 1970.
THE POLITICS OF CYBERSECURITY
Cal Poly developed the first ever interdisciplinary case study journal dedicated to cybersecurity. Students and faculty from the Political Science Department played crucial roles throughout the project.
CONNECTING CAL POLY'S PAST TO ITS FUTURE
In the 1980s, Political Science faculty recognized the need for an introductory, comprehensive book on developing countries that would appeal not just to political science students, but also to other majors in general education courses. From this need came "The Other World" textbook.
STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Political Science Department students received numerous awards and recognitions for their outstanding academic achievements.
FACULTY HONORS
Matthew Moore and Jean Williams each won the Richard K. Simon Award for Outstanding Career Achievement. Ron Den Otter and Elizabeth Lowham each received the Academic Senate Distinguished Teaching Award.
