About Paige Pellaton
Professor Paige Pellaton (she/her) is a public policy scholar specializing in state politics and state legislatures. Her research examines how the composition of state legislatures shapes both the quantity and quality of the policies they produce, as well as how the concentration and power of interest groups influence legislative productivity and policy outcomes. Her research uses a wide range of quantitative and qualitative methods, including archival research, interviews with state lawmakers and their staff, statistical modeling, and quasi-experimental research designs.
Before joining the faculty at Cal Poly, Professor Pellaton taught American politics at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, and public policy and research design at the University of California Center Sacramento in the state's capital.
When not in the classroom, Professor Pellaton probably has her nose in a good book! Her favorite genres include adventure and fantasy--especially the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and anything by N. K. Jemisin--and psychological thrillers like Yesteryear. If she's not reading, she's cuddling with her cat, rooting for the Las Vegas (always Oakland in her heart) Raiders, or catching a Sacramento Kings game. Light the beam!
