Professor Sada Andrews
This course is an introduction to jurisprudence, sometimes referred to as the philosophy of law or legal theory. During the course, we will examine the nature of law, the relationship of law to concepts of morality and justice, the role of law in our society, and its implications in our criminal justice system. We will cover the major debates in the common law systems as well as alternative theories, and then apply these theories to modern problems. This course is designed to offer both substantive knowledge and practical skills for continued learning and success in the fields of law and political science.
