Most POLS Students Now Qualify for State Funding for Groceries

Good news, Political Science Majors! The POLS major has been added to the state's LPIE (Local Program that Increases Employability) list.

This means that most POLS majors now qualify for up to $10,000 in state funding towards groceries over the course of your time at Cal Poly. Funding is typically $281/month and can be used at grocery stores and farmers’ markets.

To see if you qualify, use Cal Poly Cal Fresh's prescreener tool. (Most students meet the income threshold. Eligibility is determined based on your income, not your parents’ or supporters’ income. Students on a meal plan do not qualify. Undocumented students do not qualify.)
