POLS 338: Critical Issues in American Politics

Professor Jean Williams

This course assesses key developments in American politics and society since the beginning of the 21st century. We will critically analyze current dilemmas in the American political system and study selected public policies, including education, crime, homelessness, and immigration. The course also explores the relationship between democratic governance and such issues as citizen participation and apathy, individualism, and inequality and discrimination.
