POLS-470-02: Applied Political Advocacy

Are you interested in effective political advocacy? Professor Annie Frew will be offering a new course in Spring 2024—POLS 470: Applied Political Advocacy.

In Applied Political Advocacy, students will take both a theoretical and practical approach to learning to engage with policymakers and institutions while also focusing on building effective advocacy strategies and practical skills.  Students will develop the knowledge and tools to effectively engage with the policymaking process and influence decisions to create meaningful public policy.  We will analyze organizing methods, identify viable engagement opportunities, and build a strong foundation for best advocacy practices.  The quarter will culminate in curating a comprehensive and actionable advocacy strategy to take into any future career path.  Let’s stand in our power together!
